Oh, yes, disasters happen!
Let me tell you about my latest: me and scones. I should just say no! Resist the temptation of thinking myself a scone-baker. It simply doesn’t work. I followed the recipe to the last dot (so there is no way I can blame Bill for the result) but they simply didn’t come [...]

How do you spend a rainy weekend? Cooking, of course. Well and doing a hundred other house related chores. Or does that only happen to me? Just as long as I can avoid the cold, the rain and just overall wetness I am fine cooking. It is only July after all.
Then again this tea cake [...]

I do slightly worry that summer will never come. It is almost August and although part of Europe is suffering from unbearable heat, here, Belgium, no light, grey skies, rain, and if we are lucky 20C.
Today I decided no more! Ha. So I went out and bought this uber-cute, flowery, summery tray. If there is [...]

One dish in particular though was absolutely delicious. Not that I haven’t eaten rice before. But this rice dish was unforgettable. Fluffy, flavoured, colorful rice. Really, the best (exotic) rice I’ve [...]

Sauce. Not gravy. Not marinades. Sauce.
That was the somehow short but to the point description of this month’s ‘Waiter There’s Something in My … Sauce’ hosted by Andrew over at Spittoon Extra. So instead of thinking long and hard about an unusual, not yet cooked sauce (and given the tight deadline) we went for the [...]

There was a lot of food at our National Day Party. Everyone was asked to bring something to eat and something to drink. Make that times 20 and you have a truly great (food) party. Which lasted till the next day. Won’t comment on that.
Yours truly (x 2) brought along a tabouleh and home made [...]

I don’t think I’ll ever attempt this at home. But now I know why it is always good to have a corkscrew. Open A Bottle Of Wine Without Corkscrew
